First of all, thank you very much for a wonderful time we spent in your place last weekend. After a long hiking, it supposed to be a regular visit to the nearest restaurant on our way to have a normal dinner with two kids. Our fault - we didn’t check out a status of your facility, happy to have reserved seats, we kind of „broke into your place“ (still wondering how you let us in - joking). Not like that I imagined my trip to a Micheline star restaurant. Otherwise, I would definitely dress up, grab my LV purse and never my kids (sorry babies). Nevertheless, we got a great experience, culinary masterpieces, such a nice service and, the most important, a home feeling in that awkward situation we were. Thank you for your hospitality! Best meal I’ve ever had. The meal was a perfect blend of flavors, colors, and textures. Very unique ingredients which exploded on the palate. Wine was the perfect accompaniment! The staff was impeccable too! You will not be disappointed!!
In my opinion, the best restaurant I’ve been to in Austria. The service. The food. The wine. Out of this world extraordinary. It’s like a mix of fine dining and being at home in front of the fireplace. I will be back. This place is a gem worth visiting a thousand times.
Short story: excellent food, even for pickier eaters/non meat eaters (they have a vegetarian menu and it’s AMAZING) super friendly team!
The one sad thing/ reason I give a 4 is that the wine selection is, well, pretty basic. I’m a huge wine fanatic and have worked in wine, and expect at least some funky stuff to go with the pretty modern and funky food!
Also I’m almost 99% sure our wine was corked but the sommelier seemed a bit hesitant about that. She was nice about it all, but she didn’t seem like she knew.
Long story: So, we’ve been here twice and the first time was for a wedding (actually a double wedding!) in June (my wedding and sister in laws).
I had very low expectations for many reasons not in the least because we were in a big group!
They went above and far far beyond any expectations.
Actually, compared to other 2 Michelin’s in Vienna, they were the only restaurant to properly take note of my annoying food requirements and actually prepare something outstanding!!
So we naturally went back again a few days ago with friends and stayed the night there.
Absolutely love it and defo recommend, but I wish they would get some amazing wines to pair with the amazing food and get rid of the classical stuff!
We celebrated our sons 18th birthday and really enjoyed the excellent and creative menu in a nice ambient. The team was great - accommodated all our requests (some of us have gluten or egg intolerance) and guided us on matching wine selection. Mrs Bacher was there as well - was great to see her as she is a "cousin idol" for us for many years.
Truly a gem within the the blessed region of the wachau. One if the great restaurants you can visit in Austria...and Europe. Go there enough it, cry because the food is so fantastic. Great staff, great chef, great heritage, great region!
Wonderful place with awesome food and wine. Not cheap but well worth the price. The service is very attentive! If weather permits try to get a table in the garden!
Fantastic summer dishes. Light, fresh and well presented. Roughly €220 per head if you take the menu with accompanying drinks.
